A Sony A7, they're awesome full frame mirror-less cameras that awesome to use with old lenses. Because of the full frame sensor a 35mm lens really is a 35mm, not a 55mm due to sensor crop. Also they work much nicer due to the sensor being so close to the lens it removes the need to have a optical adaptor with older cameras which you would normally have to have on a DSLR. So that means you have have the aperture all the way open and not have to worry about your image being blurry! So I've decided that I'm going to start saving up for one to use as my main camera!

Dude, my friend has one of these and I can confirm it's awesome. He has some adapter and uses an M-mount 40mm lens on his.

Same want. My dad bought an A99 and it's a fantastic camera, more than we will ever need. But, it's just a bit big. The A7 is pretty much perfect.

Eh it was actually only $450. 40mm f/2, the reason it was so cheap is that is was sold as a Minolta lens.

You might want to check the ergonomics of using an adapted lens. Manual focus on a screen without a split prism is a bitch. Sure, you can turn on focus zoom aids, but that takes time. As does your manual aperture. In total, those adapted lenses will be a bitch to use and the 'feature' will only come in handy in very specific situations.

optical gain will be slight since modern lenses are simply better.

I kinda want one too. But I really hate Sony's Digital UI. Sue me, Im a Nikon guy. Although I have been known to carry a Panasonic Lumix With a Leica. When Either Nikon or Panasonic makes something comparable, I'd buy theirs. I just dont wanna have to learn a new system.

But it does have a viewfinder, also it uses focus peaking which makes shooting manual lenses pretty easy if you shoot in aputure priority mode.
